EU WIR

Wrap it up

EU WIR

The project ‘With innovation to regranulation’, within the program “Support for increasing the competitiveness of Croatian SMEs” – European Regional Development Fund, was submitted by the company Bomark Pak d.o.o. from Varaždin. The County Chamber of Varaždin, a branch of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, is involved as a partner in the project.

The company Bomark Pak d.o.o. was established in 2006 and is the only Croatian manufacturer of stretch films. Due to the increasing need for improved technology and the constant desire to enhance their operations, they decided to utilize EU funds, which offer opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, specifically the European Regional Development Fund call. This led to the creation of the ‘With Innovation to Regranulation’ project, which aimed to contribute to increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises through the use of eco-innovations in production and promoting investment in technology. By achieving this general goal, they also fulfill their specific goal of improving products and safety in production by reducing waste material generated during the production of stretch films, as well as promoting their activities in production, particularly eco-innovations.

The project lasts for 12 months and is worth a total of 198,546.94 EUR, of which 73% is covered by European Union funds, and 27% is invested by the applicant, Bomark Pak d.o.o.. The project will result in the purchase of a new regranulation machine, which will contribute to the improvement of the product and reduction of waste material. Along with the machine purchase, the project’s outcomes will include new employment opportunities within the company, with guaranteed training for all new employees. Additionally, the project will raise awareness about the importance of investing in new technologies among other small and medium-sized enterprises in the region engaged in similar activities, through the organization of roundtables, panel discussions on obtaining funds for new investments, and the types of investments that improve operations and increase competitiveness.

The project manager is Mr. Goran Jošić, the director of Bomark Pak d.o.o., who is responsible for the management of all project activities, communication channels, and coordination with all collaborators, suppliers, and the rest of the project team.

Through promotional activities, the public will be informed about the progress of the project and the benefits derived from it. The applicant hopes that through good cooperation with the media, awareness will be further raised about the benefits of using EU funds in the operations of small and medium-sized enterprises in the City of Varaždin and Varaždin County.
